About Us

Centuries ago, though Brahmins (derived from ‘Brahmana’, possessor of Brahma) excelled in various fields and were highly respected, today they find themselves at the fringes of the Indian societal order facing cultural and social indignation. Brahmins’ contribution to the society has been immense and most of the new generation is unaware of the contributions and sacrifices made by Brahmins for not just the welfare of India but for the world as a whole.

The expertise of Brahmins had spread across various fields that include vedic, yajna, astronomy, agriculture, medicine, political advisory, science, health, academics, amongst many others. Over the last 4 – 5 decades, the community has been marginalized – socially, culturally, economically, politically, across India. This needs to be reversed now and necessary course corrections need to be implemented within the community. Action plans have to be executed where we build strong linkages with Government, Industry bodies and socio-cultural think tanks to help as many as possible in our community. This is needed to ensure that not only we revitalize our community’s ‘economic, cultural, nation building’ image, but also to communicate to the larger audience that we wish to closely work with all to build a great nation, leveraging our inherent strengths and capabilities.

In light of this context, it becomes essential to create a support system for Brahmins and motivate them in a positive way and the pride of Brahmins is reinstated through societal welfare efforts. ‘World Brahmins Welfare Association’ in short ‘WBWA” is an effort to provide the Brahmins the much needed socio-economic support; to address their problems and sufferings by taking it up with the responsible authorities / forums; and to create a sense of unity and pride to take up this larger cause for the welfare of Brahmin community as a whole.
